Meloy earns endorsement of State Senator Lindsey Williams

Following last week’s endorsement from Steel City Stonewall Democrats, Meloy continues to build grassroots momentum for historic race

Pittsburgh, PA – Four months into his campaign for US Congress, Democrat Sean Meloy announces a resounding new wave of endorsements, including the first state senate endorsement in the race for United States Congress in Pennsylvania’s 17th Congressional District. The newly released 17th district is rated a toss-up by Larry Sabato and Cook Political.

Announcing their endorsements today are State Senator Lindsey Williams, who flipped a Republican-held seat in PA-17 in her 2018 State Senate race, Bellevue Mayor Val Pennington, Bellevue Council President Jodi Cerminara, Bellevue Council Representative Jillian Edmondson, and Pittsburgh City Councilman Bruce Kraus.

“I would be proud to run alongside Sean because I have had the honor and privilege of working side-by-side with Sean right here in the 17th District for years. Sean understands our community and he’s a team player,” said PA State Senator Lindsey Williams, SD-38. “I look forward to working alongside Sean to serve the people of the 17th.”

“I’m proud to endorse Sean for the U.S. Congress because he’s focused on the issues that I find to be of paramount importance,” said Bellevue Mayor Val Pennington. “I’m confident he will represent the needs and best interests of the residents of our Commonwealth and Nation.”

“We need a representative that will listen to the needs of the people and work towards building a sustainable future. That is what Sean has been fighting for and I know he’ll continue in Congress,” said President of Bellevue Council Jodi Cerminara.

“I am honored to earn the endorsement of these strong elected officials who are new and authentic voices for their communities. Organizing our community from the ground up has been one of my priorities, and I know with them at my side, we will build a winning coalition,” said Meloy. “Our grassroots campaign has the foundation necessary to make sure the entire Democratic ticket wins in November.”

This new slate of endorsements comes as Meloy’s campaign gains grassroots momentum across the district, joining leaders and activists across the Commonwealth and country in support. For a full list of endorsements, visit seanmeloy.com/endorsements.
